EKG TECHNICIAN

Course Description

This is a 6-week instructional hybrid learning course which includes 3 days of hands-on skills practice with EKG equipment that will prepare participants to become an EKG Technician. EKG Technicians perform diagnostic tests which involves recording electrical impulses transmitted by the heart. These tests help doctors to detect and diagnose heart problems. The EKG course includes an overview on the anatomy and physiology of the heart, medical disease processes, medical terminology, medical ethics, electrocardiography, and stress testing. Upon successful completion of the course the participant will be eligible to sit for National Certification exam through the National Healthcareers Association (NHA) and become a Nationally Certified EKG Technician. Exam fee is included in tuition.
